The steelmakers inspect the furnace temperature and takes the samples of the melt to check the progress through the melting process. If the steel is done, the molten metal will be drained from the furnace into a vessel named "teeming ladle" that conveyed the melted steel to a mill nearby in which it will be cast or forged into steel products. Electric arc furnace runs very quickly. A load of steel can be melted in as little as an hour.
There are several advantages of electric arc furnaces for steelmaking. The key feature is that they can precisely control the temperature and internal atmosphere. Electric arc furnaces are more economical compared with other steelmaking processes, for that they start with scrap metal. It's cost-effective for that they can produce batches of steel as small as 1 ton. Electric arc furnaces can't be put in the place which is on the minus side. It is noisy when the furnace is in operation. Plenty of cheap electricity, road or rail is also required for they need to get access to bring in a steady supply of scrap metal as well as room to site steel mill that can process the furnace's output.
